Fall at Your Feet
Written
by Neil Finn, Roundhead Music/BMI
Recorded
by Mary Black (and others), I first heard
this song
at a Mary
Black concert in Los Angeles, California in
October, 1999. She
dedicated the song to a very kind man
named Amir whom I was
fortunate to meet backstage, and
he took my picture with Mary.
This was a special night for
me, as not only did I meet Mary,
but this night marked a
turning point in my life. For the first
time for me, there was
a successful singer whom I felt I could
truly relate with artistically.
Jennifer
Johnson: vocals
Ben Wisch: piano
Natalie Haas: cello

My Secret Garden
Written by Jennifer Johnson, © 2004
Inspired
by a spiritual meditative garden for one to visit to replenish,
learn, grow and connect with his deeper being, to me this garden
is a beautiful colorful haven between worlds where the soul may
retreat to, to rest, process, gain insight, heal or to simply
just be.
Jennifer
Johnson - vocals, guitar
Jerry O'Sullivan - low whistles

Purple Rose
Written by Jennifer Johnson, © 2004
This
song was born a poem and became a song about a year later....I
was throwing away a vase of roses, whose scent had so sweetly
enveloped my room days earlier...

A Fhleasgaich Uasail
Traditional
It
was hearing Mary Jane Lamond perform this song at a concert in
Cape Breton that prompted a long-time desire to learn to sing in
Gaelic. I fell in love with the melody of the song and later was
able to translate it (with help). The song is about a noble man
who must bury his love.

Johnson - vocals
Eamon O'Leary - guitar

Ready for the Storm
Written by Dougie MacLean, Mechanical Copyright
Protection Society, Ltd.
One
of my favorite songs to perform, I first heard this song many
years ago off a recording of Kathy Mattea and then more recently
on a Celtic compilation album sung by Mary Dillon. I think this
is my favorite track on my CD, much thanks to Eamon's lovely
guitar and mandolin arrangements...

Cum Ar Naire
Written by Calum & Rory MacDonald, Storr Music Ltd.
I
learned this song from a recording of Mairi MacInnes. The song
speaks about remembering the special place you came from when
you go to the city, as the city will blind you. As I have not
yet experienced Scotland's western shores and lands, I can only
imagine their awe-inspiring beauty. This song speaks to me of
the power and purifying effect of earth's soothing nature and
beauty.
Jennifer
Johnson - vocals
Eamon O'Leary - guitar
Brenda Steele - Gaelic coaching
